At FKB physio, we listen to you, and aim to find effective solutions that meet you where you're at.

We have long appointments, and we use that time to explore all potential contributing factors to the pain or injury that has brought you in to see us. Together, we come up with a plan to get you back to where you want to be, in a way that works for you.

Our focus is on active rehabilitation strategies so that you are able to continue doing the things you love while you recover.  We see you as the driver of your recovery, with us as the guide.

As active people ourselves, we understand how important it is to stay connected with things that give your life meaning.  We aim to centre your needs and target rehabilitation towards the things that matter most to you.

Our main focus is to help you to better understand what may be contributing to your problem and figure out how to address it.

What an initial assessment entails

- We will take you through a thorough history of your problem, as well as any relevant social, lifestyle, training, or medical factors that may influence your recovery.

- We will perform an in depth physical assessment to screen for any serious conditions and narrow down potential causes of your pain.

- As part of this assessment, you will be asked to perform the movements that bring on your pain. We may also include sport- or exercise-specific movements to better understand how you move.

- We will explain our findings, including what we believe is contributing to your pain and what steps are needed to begin your recovery.

- If appropriate, we may provide hands-on treatment for immediate pain relief.

- We will go through exercises and movements that can support your recovery, helping to build strength, tolerance, and confidence in the affected area.

- We will provide tailored advice and education, including activities to do more of and others to reduce or modify while you are getting better.

- We will give sport-specific, activity, and load-management advice, as training volume and intensity are closely linked with injury risk.

- Finally, we will discuss the level of support you would like throughout the recovery process and arrange check-ins at a frequency that works best for you.
